Almost 80% of Yellowstone National Park is a forest. In the summer Yellowstone National Park has severe droughts and lightning-caused wildfires. In 1988 thousands of acres burned because of these fires. There are many reasons these fires are good and not good.

Pros

The fires burn the old landscape and that makes the fresh landscape. This is good for the animals to live.

The fires help clear the underbrush so that archeologist can find artifacts easier.

The fires added more tourist. They wanted to see the damage to the park.

Cons

The fires burn buildings and make problems for roads.

The fires also burn down the power lines and signs.

The fires kill many animals.

Cons of the fires are my choice because, fires could make the land worse, not better.
